Afghanistan Teachers’ Professional Development Network Platform Officially Launches

The platform was developed entirely through voluntary efforts under the initiative and leadership of Mirwais Khairandish, Founder and Executive Director of the Benevolent Charity and Education Organization (BCEO).

Teacher.af is a strategic BCEO initiative designed to support continuous professional learning, digital skills, collaboration and the professional development of teachers in Afghanistan.

The platform is the result of sustained work by a team of young BCEO volunteers who believe they have a responsibility to contribute to the future of education in their country. Despite technical, financial and operational limitations, the team worked with commitment and persistence to establish a simple, practical and accessible platform for teachers and education institutions.

A Shared Space for Teacher Learning and Collaboration

Teacher.af is more than an information website. It has been designed as a comprehensive environment where teachers can learn, exchange experiences and access educational and professional opportunities.

Through the platform, teachers can:

• access educational resources and professional learning materials;
• search for and download relevant resources;
• raise teaching-related questions and challenges through the discussion forum;
• respond to questions submitted by other teachers;
• share professional experiences and practical teaching approaches;

Schools, education centres, universities and other organizations working in education can also register and, following account verification, submit relevant employment opportunities through the platform.

All submitted job opportunities are reviewed by the Teacher.af management team before publication to help maintain the credibility and quality of the information made available to users.

During future phases of development, education institutions are also expected to have broader opportunities to share professional development programmes, webinars, workshops, events and educational resources with teachers.

A Trilingual Platform Designed for Afghanistan

Teacher.af is available in Dari, Pashto and English and has been designed for use on mobile phones, tablets and computers.

The platform aims to organize and present educational resources, news, job opportunities and professional learning information in a clear and accessible way that responds to the needs of teachers in Afghanistan.

Teacher.af represents a practical step towards expanding teachers’ access to digital learning, professional resources and opportunities for collaboration. Its sustainable growth, however, will depend on the active participation of teachers, cooperation from education institutions and responsible support from national and international organizations.

The Teacher.af team plans to develop the platform gradually and introduce additional features based on the real needs and feedback of teachers.
